Spectra Wrist brace - Stabilization for the wrist

The Spectra Wrist brace is a stabilizing wrist orthosis that restricts movement in the wrist and, if necessary, the thumb. It is intended for conditions where reduced mobility may be helpful, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, mild to moderate sprains and strains, tendonitis, and osteoarthritis. The orthosis features stabilizing aluminum supports and adjustable straps that allow for a customized fit.

Stabilization and use

The orthosis can be used for bursitis, certain soft tissue injuries, and during the healing of injuries following cast treatment. The Spectra Wrist brace helps restrict movement using supports on both the palm side and the back of the hand.

Malleable aluminum splint

The aluminum splint on the palm side can be bent to follow the contours of the hand and forearm. An aluminum support on the back of the hand contributes to the structure's stabilizing function. Both supports should be positioned correctly when the orthosis is in use.

Adjustable straps
The orthosis has an adjustable closure strap and a separate strap over the support on the back of the hand. The straps allow you to adjust how the orthosis fits around the hand and wrist. The fit may need to be adjusted if swelling changes.

Application and fit
Loosen the straps and insert your hand into the orthosis. Check that the supports are correctly positioned and that the splint on the palm side follows the shape of your hand. Fasten the straps and adjust until the brace is secure and comfortable.

Use and precautions
Check the skin where the orthosis rests before and after use. The product should not be used directly on damaged skin or over open wounds. If pain, skin irritation, or unusual reactions occur, discontinue use.

Cleaning and care
The Spectra Wrist brace should be hand-washed with mild detergent, rinsed thoroughly, and air-dried. Machine washing, tumble drying, ironing, bleach, and fabric softener should be avoided. If the orthosis comes into contact with salt water or chlorinated water, it should be rinsed with fresh water and air-dried.
